A tourist at Tien Cave in Lao Cai Province - Photo 52hz.vn Tien Cave is one of the beautiful landscapes in the country and attracts many tourists to Lao Cai Province. With a white sandy beach and crystal clear water, the scenic cave is an ideal resting place among the mountains on summer days. The path leading to the cave in Coc Ly Commune, Bac Ha District is a small flow of the Chay River, originating from stream branches in the northwest of Hà Giang Province. On a boat trip on the stream leading to Tien Cave - Photo traveloka.com The Chay River coming here seems to be constricted to form a deep river, bringing a gentle look, weaving between the two steep cliffs. The two sides are primeval forests, covering the whole landscape with a cool, fresh climate. (Photo: VNA) Phnom Penh (VNA) – The delegation of Vietnamese athletes with disabilities has obtained successes beyond expectations at the 12th ASEAN Para Games, scheduled to officially wrap up in Cambodia on late June 9. By the end of June 8, when competitions of most sports had completed, Vietnam gained 66 gold, 56 silver, and 77 bronze medals. These results helped Vietnam secure the third position on the medal standings, following Indonesia (153 gold medals) and Thailand (123) and much outperforming the fourth-placed Malaysia (46). These are encouraging results since before the Games started, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Nguyen Hong Minh, head of the Vietnamese delegation to the 12th ASEAN Para Games, had targeted only 50 - 55 gold medals and a place in the top four in the standings. The results at this year’s Games are … [Read more...] about Sources of pride for Vietnam at 12th ASEAN Para Games

City can party like it’s 1999
Maybe it’s a sure sign of getting old, but in my mind, the year 1999 doesn’t seem that far back. I was working in Liverpool, England, as Chief Reporter for the evening newspaper, and I’d get my kicks on the train journey into the office by playing ‘snake’ on my latest Nokia phone. Manchester United’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer celebrates scoring the winning goal in the 1999 Champions League final - Photo AFP Photo The Millennium Bug was all everyone was talking about, and there was a genuine concern that at the stroke of midnight on December 31, 1999, the world was likely to implode. FYI – it never. The fabulous Prince song, 1999, released bizarrely in 1982, was, for obvious reasons, played constantly on the radio, and people actually listened to radios. Vauxhall had just brought out their new and improved version of the Vectra and the euro currency was launched with England saying a firm ‘thanks but no thanks’. In June of 1999, Manchester United manager Alex … [Read more...] about City can party like it’s 1999
