  By Robert Bicknell Ahh, it’s almost time for the US Open again and that means it’s time to bash the USGA before the USGA bashes the “best players in the world” with a ridiculous course set up, but this year will be a little different because the USGA's Mike Davis has relinquished course-setup duties to John Bodenhamer, who has run USGA amateur championships since 2011. Davis is the genius who brought us such favorites as the mishandling of the Dustin Johnson ruling at Oakmont in 2016 and the ravaged greens at Chambers Bay in 2015, the set up which caused Phil Mickelson to temporarily lose his mind and intentionally hit a moving ball in last year’s US Open, the new rules for 2019, and its poor roll-out which resulted in severe mockery by the Tour players and, I’m sure, many amateurs as well. Tra fish exports to Russia slump Export revenue of tra fish to the Russian market in the first 10 months of this year fell 31 percent compared to last year to 12.5 million USD, reported the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP). According to the association, the sharp drop followed last year’s declining trend, and was likely to continue for the rest of 2019. VASEP said that in the last two years, Russia’s tra fish consumption has been modest, with unstable import prices. Meanwhile, the European country’s imports of frozen tra fish fillets have increased slightly by 3 percent, but that of frozen whole fish have fallen 29 percent./. The 2020 UPU letter-writing competition was launched on December 6 at a ceremony held in Thanh Cong Secondary School in Hanoi, marking the 33rd time that such a contest has been held in Vietnam. The letters must be handwritten, no more than 800 words long and have not been published in newspapers or books. The contestants can write their letters in any language but foreign-language letters must be accompanied by their translations into Vietnamese, which is the language used for judgement. The letters are to be sent to Thieu nien Tien phong (Young Pioneers) Newspaper at 5 Hoa Ma Street, Hanoi, no later than February 25 according to the postmark date.
