Scagliotti, from Italy, has been passionate about Vietnamese and President Ho Chi Minh studies all her life, putting her all into making the late leader’s ideology better known in her country. She has translated two Vietnamese books into Italian. One of them, in collaboration with Vietnamese translator Tran Doan Trang, was published by Anteo Edizioni Publishing House last year under the name “Ho Chi Minh - Lettre Per Pace in Vietnam” (Ho Chi Minh - Letters for Peace in Vietnam) as part of its Banyan/Southeast Asia series. It features a collection of his letters written during the period from 1945 to 1969, in which the President expressed his wish to cooperate with the Americans and other nationalities throughout the world in fighting for peace in Vietnam. It was the first time the book had become available in a European language. Hà Nội’s second metro line project delayed further 5 years

VNA/VNS Photo HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội Urban Railway Management Board has proposed delaying the Nhổn-Hà Nội Railway Station project for five years, with an additional investment capital expenditure of more than VNĐ4.9 trillion (US$211.2 million). Under the management board’s proposal recently sent to the city’s People’s Committee, the Nhổn-Hà Nội Railway Station line will be put into operation in 2027, with the elevated section beginning in 2022. The metro line will complete its final settlements in 2029. Accordingly, the project’s total investment has been adjusted to be VNĐ34.53 trillion ($1.48 billion), with an increase in investment of about VNĐ4.9 trillion ($211.2 million). The management board said the increase in total investment was required because of changes in exchange rates and the need to readjust initial designs and technical requirements. Netflix unveils winners of ‘My Vietnam’ short film competition

Over 100,000 viewers tuned in to the highly-anticipated award ceremony, live-streamed on Yeah1's Facebook channel, on May 23. The First Prize was granted to Pao's Forest (Khu rung của Pao) by Nguyen Pham Thanh Dat. The film tells the story of Pao, a Mong man who married at 14. At the age of 18, he falls in love for the first time, forcing him to choose between love and family responsibilities. The project was filmed over one month in Moc Chau township of Son La province, and all of the film's actors are from the Mong ethnic group.
