Vietjet reports over VND900 billion in profit in Q4/2022

The company’s revenue in 2022 hit VND32.5 trillion, while profit was limited, reaching only VND215 billion. — VNA/VNS Photo Vietjet Air saw an impressive recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic as it recorded a year-on-year rise of 175 per cent in net revenue to VND7.35 trillion (US$313.4 million), and earned profit of VND902 billion in the last quarter of 2022. The company’s revenue in 2022 hit VND32.5 trillion, while profit was limited, reaching only VND215 billion. It also contributed over VND4.3 trillion worth of direct and indirect taxes, fees and charges to the State budget. Last year, the carrier transported 20.5 million passengers aboard 116,000 flights, in which domestic transport increased by 20 per cent compared to 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. Vietnam ranks 2nd in Asia in two-way trade by sea with US
This is an important basis for affirming the capacity of Vietnam’s seaports and creates a premise for shipping lines to use the country’s seaports as important links in global shipping chains. Nguyen Duc Hoang, an electrician in Hanoi, quit his job before the Tet holiday and has been doing a variety of part-time jobs since. He has been receiving unemployment insurance for three months. He went to the Hanoi Job Marketplace to find a more stable job with insurance and allowances. “Through the job marketplace, I was introduced to several jobs related to my profession, and I’m considering them,” said Hoang. Ho Chi Minh City mull over leasing part of roadways, sidewalks
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport is formulating a plan to lease part of the local roadways and sidewalks for activities other than traffic purposes. The transport department has requested relevant units to review and create a list of streets whose roadbeds and sidewalks are suitable for activities other than traffic. On November 15, 2022, this agency asked the municipal People’s Committee to consider replacing Decision No. 74/2008 on the management and use of roadbeds and sidewalks in the metropolis. The department is now making a draft plan that will be considered as a replacement of Decision No. 74/2008. The draft plan highlights that part of the roadways and sidewalks can be temporarily leased for activities such as merchandise sales, installation of public works and utilities, parking service, and cultural activities.
