At the press conference (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Craft Villages Festival 2023 will take place in Hanoi from October to November to preserve and promote the values of traditional craft villages, the organising board said at a press conference on September 26. The event will be co-organised by the Department of Cooperatives and Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), and the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. A wide range of activities are on schedule, including a ceremony to honour excellent craftsmen, an opening ceremony, an art programme, an international exhibition introducing craft products and those under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme, and an international workshop on preservation and development of craft villages. Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control stays vigilant against Nipah outbreak in India
The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) said on Thursday it is monitoring people entering the city from regions hit by the Nipah virus, whose spread has killed two people in India's southern state of Kerala within one week. The southern Indian state recently reported six Nipah infections in one week, with two dead and a nine-year-old patient in serious conditions. More than 700 people, including healthcare workers, were tested for the deadly virus. The Kerala administration shut some schools, offices, and public transport in an attempt to curb the spread of the Nipah virus. Given the spread of the deadly virus, the HCDC ramped up efforts to monitor those entering the southern Vietnamese metropolis from virus-hit areas via Tan Son Nhat International Airport and seaports citywide to early detect and timely handle those with probable Nipah infection. Hanoi Autumn Festival 2023 begins
This is the first Hanoi Autumn Festival held by the Hanoi Centre for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion. It features 150 booths along Dinh Tien Hoan, Le Thach, and Bat Giac streets, introducing special food, products, and tourist destinations. The event attracted 14 cities and provinces to attend and showcase their specialities, including Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, and others.
