With 94% of votes in favour, lawmakers on May 22 agreed to relieve Tran Hong Ha of his post as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, at the ongoing session of the National Assembly in Hanoi. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha will no longer concurrently hold his post as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment as of May 22. Delivering the report, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai said that last year, 13 out of the 15 targets set for the year were completed and exceeded. After being supplemented, the socioeconomic development results of 2022 changed positively, with GDP growth of 8.02% compared to about 8% in the original report, and CPI increase of 3.15% from about 4% in the previous report. The Government Office recently issued a Notice on Deputy PM Ha’s conclusion at a meeting related to the negotiations of electricity prices for these projects. The document stated that to achieve the goal of sustainable development, the Government has been implementing solutions for the national energy transition, including policies to encourage investment in renewable energy development.
