The Hoi An People's Committee organized the parade to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival. The parade began with the moon hanging high in the sky, and the procession marched along the town's main streets: Tran Phu, Bach Dang and Le Loi. Several foreigners could be seen in the crowd watching the parade, and some were even sporting Vietnamese traditional dress ao dai and holding star lanterns in hand. Some foreign tourists said they had a "very exciting" experience watching the parade and the lion dance performances. Foreigners watch the parade from both sides of the street. At 8 p.m., the rain came, causing the parade to die down a bit. Several stores were closed and certain areas experienced blackouts. Vietnam a popular destination for Koreans on Chuseok holiday: survey

(Photo: VNA) Seoul (VNA) – Vietnam is among destinations favoured by people from the Republic of Korea ( RoK ) for the Mid-Autumn holiday , known as Chuseok in the country. According to a recent survey conducted by the Incheon International Airport Corporation from August 7 to August 24 regarding passenger opinions, Vietnam is chosen by 14.5% of the respondents, ranking second on the list of most favoured international travel destinations for Chuseok. Japan topped the list with a rate of 28.2%. Vietnam also placed second among preferred travel destinations for those aged 20 and 30 (13.8% of respondents) and those aged 40 and 50 (12.8% of respondents). This year, for the first time, the RoK government designated October 2 as a one-off temporary holiday, extending the length of the Chuseok holiday to six days. Defense leader presents gifts to national contributors from Kien Giang

Troops actively support flood-hit victims
In Nghe An province, some districts of Quy Chau, Thanh Chuong, Con Cuong, Do Luong, Quy Hop and Ky Son suffered from heavy rains and flooding. Especially in Quy Chau district’s Tan Lac town, over 250 houses were flooded, causing severe damages to assets and properties. Hence, the Quy Chau district Military Command have sent 30 servicemen and vehicles to evacuate local people and their properties. Local militiamen are present at heavily-flooded roads to warn residents. According to Colonel Vuong Dinh Hanh, Political Commissar of the Ky Son district Military Command, his troops are supporting local people to move elderly, children and properties to higher places in Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district. Hanoi promotes trade and investment potential to investors
The event was held by Hanoi Centre for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion (HPA) in collaboration with the Hanoi Young Business Association. Singaporean young officers visits Air Force Regiment 929
The Singaporean delegation, led by Major Barry Lai, consists of 11 young officers from all branches of the Singapore Armed Forces, including the navy, army, and air force. Accompanying the delegation were Colonel Beranrd Ng, Singaporean Defense Attaché to Vietnam, and representatives from the Youth Advisory Board under the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnamese People’s Army, as well as troops from Air Force Regiment 929. On the occasion, the Singaporean delegation toured the unit’s barracks, had an exchange with the Vietnamese young officers, and shared experience in training to ensure flight safety, train military pilots, and master staffed equipment and weapons, to name but a few.
