Sunwell Solutions, with eight years experience in providing human resources solutions, aims to increase opportunities for outstanding Vietnamese engineers working at Japanese firms and develop relations between Japanese employers and Vietnamese employees. Yoshioka Reito, a representative of Sunwell in Vietnam, stressed that although it has been established for nine years with highly technical staff, Sunwell is looking to expand its business to great customers, focusing on key fields such as information technology, automobile technology, and refinery projects. While workers coming from other provinces and cities have inundated Ho Chi Minh City for many years, the reverse is true among aspiring young Saigonese who choose to take rewarding jobs in companies, mostly foreign ones, in other provinces. On any given day, buses carry staff from across the city to industrial parks located in the neighboring provinces of Binh Duong and Dong Nai as well as other provinces including Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Long An, some 30 and 90 kilometers away from the metropolis. Jan-Oct FDI in Binh Duong soars Quoc Hung By Quoc Hung - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC – Foreign direct investment (FDI) approvals in Binh Duong Province have surged 40% this year compared to the same period last year and are 63% higher than the full-year target. Foreign-invested enterprises have registered a total of over US$1.63 billion for projects in the southern province in the January-October period, including US$910 million for 165 new projects and US$722 million for 107 operational projects. The total figure comprises over US$200 million for 23 new projects and US$330 million for 15 operational projects for which the provincial government granted investment certificates last Friday. The 23 new projects are active in supporting industries for automobile, bicycle and motorbike manufacturing, mechanical engineering, apparel and services for industrial production. Ocean science takes big step forward in VN with purchase of well-head platform
VietNamNet Bridge - A subsidiary of PetroVietnam, the national oil and gas group, has obtained a contract to export a well head platform (WHP) to Brunei. Do Thai Binh, a renowned maritime expert, and Vice Chair of the Association of Science & Technology of Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry, says this a great success of Vietnam’s science and technology. PTSC M&C (PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation Mechanical and Construction), the builder, is expected to export the oil rig to Brunei by mid-June. The $100 million product is being made to fulfill the order of Total E&P Borneo B.V, a French group headquartered in Brunei. Local newspapers reported that PTSC M&C has finished the construction of the jacket, weighing 1,200 tons in Brunei, while it is working on the topside weighing 3,000 tons in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, Vietnam.
