BCI Asia Awards for Vietnam spotlight top architecture, real estate firms

The portfolios of the elite architecture firms cover $7.03 billion worth of properties scheduled to start construction in Vietnam this year, while the portfolios of the top developers are valued at $4.89 billion. These firms were chosen based on the greatest aggregate value of projects under construction during the last full calendar year, weighted by the extent of their sustainability efforts. For architecture firms, pre-tender projects were included to recognize early incorporation of green design efforts. At the annual BCI Asia Awards ceremony on May 31, the Top 10 Developers Award 2019 for Vietnam were given to: Flamingo Group; FLC Group; Gamuda Land Vietnam; Hung Thinh Real Estate Business Investment Corporation (Hung Thinh Corporation); Phu Long Real Estate; Phu My Hung Development Corporation; Phuc Khang Corporation; Sun Group; TTC Land; and Vingroup (listing by alphabetical order) . First Vietnam medical achievement award calls 16 winners

At the event (Photo: VNA) HCM City (VNA) – The Voice of Ho Chi Minh City (VOH), the local official radio broadcasting station, together with the municipal Health Department hosted the first Vietnam medical achievement award ceremony on February 26 to honour 16 contributions to the community’s wellbeing in 2020 from across the nation. The contributions were voted by the public from 22 nominations selected by the award’s council of professionals. Three months after its launch, the award received more than 60 nominations from medical facilities nationwide. Among the winners were the work of doctors at the Cu Chi COVID-19 treatment hospital – the first of its kind in Vietnam, and medical staff at the HCM City Centre for Diseases Control. Since the pandemic begin in the country, hundreds of medical workers in Ho Chi Minh City have taken turns to be at the hospital, while preventive medicine workers at the centre have worked day and night on contact-tracing and testing sample collection. Another was the operation that separated 16-month-old conjoined twins – Truc Nhi and Dieu Nhi, with the sisters now able to walk on their own. The surgery was performed by 93 doctors and nurses. VOH Director Le Cong Dong said the award is now an annual event in celebration of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27). Literary and Artistic Creation Awards celebrates 1,010th year of Thang Long–Hanoi

The Hanoitimes - The award-winning works have inherited and promoted the traditional values of 1,010 years of Thang Long-Hanoi. The Hanoi People’s Committee awarded prizes for 55 best works of local authors in the Literary and Artistic Creation Contest on December 28 in Hanoi, in celebration to the 1,010th founding anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. Photo: Lai Tan Launched in December 2019, the contest attracted 317 entries in many creative fields, such as fine arts, folk arts, photography, theater, dance, music and cinema. From the submissions, the Organizing Board selected 55 excellent works for the final round, of which 34 works in the professional art field and 21 works in the amateur art field. The contest attracted the participation of a large number of the capital's artists. Many literary and artistic works were created in the spirit of innovation, in a true and harmonious approach between tradition and contemporary elements, according to the Organizing Board. The works inherited and promoted the traditional values of Thang Long-Hanoi, reflecting deeply and comprehensively the performance of the capital in the period of renovation, integration and development; helping to foster the cultural development and the shape the civilized manner of Hanoians and Vietnamese people as a whole.
