Vietnam wins four medals at 34th International Olympiad in Informatics

(Photo: SGGP) With a 100 percent medal-winning rate, including one gold and three silver medals, the Vietnamese national team ranks in the top nine countries and territories, after China, Japan, the US, South Korea, Iran, Ukraine, Croatia, and Taiwan, according to the medal tally. Specifically, Tran Xuan Bach, an eleventh grader of the High School for Gifted Students, College of Natural Science, under the Vietnam National University (VNU), won the gold medal. Duong Minh Khoi, a twelfth grader of the High School for Gifted Students, College of Natural Science; Le Huu Nghia, a twelfth grader of Binh Long High School for Gifted Students in Binh Phuoc Province; Truong Van Quoc Bao, a twelfth grader of Phan Boi Chau High School for Gifted Students in Nghe An Province, won the silver medals. Thousands of wild orchid plants brought back to nature

Russian experts have joined the preservation of President Ho Chi Minh’s body for over 50 years since he passed away in 1969. Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh today met a delegation of Russian scientists to whom he extended thanks for their support in keeping the embalmed body of Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh unharmed. Vietnam reports additional 1,429 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday

The Vietnamese Ministry of Health on Sunday reported an additional 1,429 Covid-19 infections, raising the country's total tally to over 11 million. On August 14, an additional 5,932 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 10.02 million. On Sunday evening, one death from Covid-19 was recorded, raising the country's total fatalities to 43,098, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections. By August 13, the country had injected more than 251 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Vietnam has not yet drafted plans to give Covid-19 vaccines to children under five years old. PAN’s refresher course on journalism knowledge opened in Central and Central Highlands region

The event was attended by the PAN’s Managing Editor Senior Colonel Le Ngoc Long and Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 5 (MR5) Senior Colonel Nguyen Ba Hung, together with representatives of the PAN, and 51 trainees who are political officers and PAN’s collaborators in military units in the Central and Central Highlands region.
