Vietnamese firm secures massive funding for green projects from Australian finance provider
Sydney-based commercial finance provider Acuity Funding and Tin Thanh Group on Monday concluded a deal in which the former would provide US$6.4 billion for the latter's green projects in Vietnam and the U.S.. As per the deal, Acuity Funding will pour $1 billion into four biomass power plants and thousands of hectares of grain cultivation in the central and southern regions of Vietnam. These facilities will be located in Da Nang City, Kon Tum Province, and An Giang Province, with a total capacity of 165MW. Acuity Funding also pledged some $1.7 billion for the Vietnamese firm’s project to build a truck service and retreading factory in South Carolina, the United States. The facility will serve over one million trucks in the U.S. to reduce gas emissions, save costs, and advance green energy transition. Vinh Long’s pottery village along Co Chien river (Photo: VNA) Vinh Long (VNA) – The southern province of Vinh Long is located between the two big branches of the Mekong River - Tien Giang and Hau Giang. For thousands of years, under the alluvial layer of the two rivers, deposits of rare and precious clay have been formed. They clay is the raw material to make red ceramic products, which Vinh Long is famous for. The pottery village along Co Chien river is known as the kingdom of red ceramics with more than 1,000 mushroom-shaped pottery kilns, some of them are up to 12 metres high. At first glance, the village looks like an ancient city with red castles under the sun. The village has become a popular destination for tourists. Red clay is only found in Vinh Long, mostly in its two districts of Long Ho and Mang Thit. Tin Thanh Group receives $6.4 billion to build factories in Vietnam and US
Around $1 billion will be used to develop four biomass power plants and thousands of hectares of sorghum cultivation in central and southern Vietnam, and a further $1.7 billion will be allocated for Tin Thanh Group (TTG) to build a tyre retreading and truck service plant in South Carolina to serve over one million trucks in the US with the goal of reducing emissions, saving costs, and transitioning to green energy. The remaining $3.7 billion in funding will be spent on the establishment of a green hydrogen manufacturing facility in South Carolina. Land grant approvals and support have also been given to TTG from the state of South Carolina, totalling huge incentives of over $500 million.
