Activities bring joy to children during Mid-Autumn Festival
State President Vo Van Thuong shared the joy with children at a special event in the southern province of Binh Phuoc on September 27. Some 100 children in the province, including 50 who lost their parents from COVID-19 and 50 who are disadvantaged, received Mid-Autumn gifts and scholarships worth 2 million VND (equivalent to 83 USD) each from the President. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and presented gifts to children from disadvantaged backgrounds undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion on September 28. Hanoi renews tourism offerings to attract visitors
Since reopening its doors to tourists on March 15, 2022, Hanoi has implemented a number of measures to attract more holidaymakers both at home and abroad. The Hanoi Department of Tourism has certified 29 food service establishments, 51 shopping establishments, nine entertainment establishments, and one sports establishment. More than 170 activities, including significant cultural and tourism events, have been held. Additionally, Hanoi has recognized over 2,000 products under the One Commune-One Product (OCOP) programme, accounting for approximately 22% of the country’s total OCOP products. Veggie, fruit exports to China enjoy double-digit growth
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first eight months of this year, Vietnam’s revenue from vegetable and fruit exports reached 3.45 billion USD, up nearly 60% year-on-year. China continues to be Vietnam’s primary destination for vegetable and fruit exports , accounting for 65% of the total revenue. The Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association highlights the significant potential for Vietnamese fruits, such as durian and jackfruit, to enter the Chinese market, as these tropical fruits cannot be cultivated to the same quality standards within China . Allowing young people to follow a development plan is a primary factor in why it is of paramount importance to educate primary school pupils on nutrition knowledge. As such, many boarding primary schools are following the motto of the “Three minutes to change awareness” poster, which has been devised by the School Meal Project for Nutrition Education for Pupils. The project has been implemented since 2012 by the Ministry of Education and Training, in collaboration with the National Institute of Nutrition, the Ministry of Health, and Ajinomoto Vietnam. The campaign is based on the nutrition education method used for children in Japan. The “Three minutes to change awareness” poster has been vividly and comprehensibly designed to feature basic nutrition information of foods, including their vitamin, mineral composition, and corresponding functions. 4 believed-to-be Vietnamese women rescued from refrigerated truck in France
The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said it is verifying a report that four of the six women discovered and rescued by French police from a refrigerated truck in France are Vietnamese citizens, and is ready for citizen protection measures. The rescue was made in Lyon, a city in southeastern France, on Thursday and the six rescued women included four believed to be Vietnamese and two Iraqi, the ministry said Friday, citing a report from the Vietnamese Embassy in France. After getting notified of the rescue, the embassy has immediately coordinated with local authorities to verify the information and ask for their support to carry out citizen protection measures. Initial information showed that the four believed-to-be Vietnamese women were in stable health condition.
