Vietnam has dominated the past three Games with 17 golds in 2017, 16 in 2019 and 22 at the last Games held a year later than scheduled in 2022 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. With just six weeks to go before the start of the Games, the team is training hard to keep its top spot. “We have set a target for each group," said Nguyen Manh Hung, general secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation . Vietnamese boxer Nguyen Thi Tam beat Botswana athlete Modukanele Lethabo Bokamoso in the Round of 16 of the 2023 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship in India on Tuesday to advance to the quarterfinals.
