PANO - The flying trapeze act performed by Hoang Anh and Thu Hiep from Ho Chi Minh Circus Troupe won the Silver medal at the Figueres International Circus, held in Spain from February 21st- 25th. 27 performances from 14 countries were presented at the Figueres Festival, including brilliant circus performances from the US, Russia, China and Spain. The Vietnamese acrobats’ flying trapeze won the third spot, after Russian horse performance and Chinese somersault. Trade revenue with G7 members totals USD 113 billion in 2017
The figure showed an increase of 9.5 percent year on year and accounted for over one fourth of the country’s total import-export revenue. Of the figure, Vietnam’s export revenues were USD 78.98 billion, a rise of 8.4 percent over the previous year and accounting for 36.7 percent of the country’s total export value. Meanwhile, imports from G7 countries reached USD 34.03 billion, an increase of 12.3 percent and contributing 16 percent to total import revenue. As a result, in 2017, Vietnam enjoyed a trade surplus of USD 44.95 billion with G7 countries. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc of Vietnam was invited to attend the G7 Outreach Summit in Charlevoix region, Canada’s Quebec state, from June 8-10. The annual Nguyên Tiêu Festival on the 15th of lunar January in Hội An has been recognised as a National Intangible Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Lanterns are used to decorate Hôi An every full moon. Viet Nam leads Southeast Asia in wooden furniture exports to Australia
Producing wooden furniture for export at Trieu Phu Loc Furniture Co., Ltd, Tan Uyen Town, Binh Duong Province. — VNA/VNS Photo Wooden furniture exports from Southeast Asian markets to Australia grew sharply in the past year, with Viet Nam leading the way on US$205.6 million, up 26.4 per cent year-on-year. Following Viet Nam is Malaysia with $101.9 million and Indonesia with $61.7 million. The proportion of wooden furniture imports from these three markets accounted for 22.9 per cent of the total value of wooden furniture imports into Australia. The Import-Export Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, quoted statistics from the General Department of Customs saying that the export value of wooden office furniture reached $28.4 million in December, a year-on-year decline of 28.6 per cent. Coach Park Hang-seo to help open football academy in Vietnam
"I plan to cooperate and open a youth football training academy in Vietnam. I will use my experience as a coach in both Vietnam and the Republic of Korea to contribute to Vietnamese football in the future," Park said at the farewell meeting with local fans in Hanoi this week. The Korean coach officially ended his five-year journey on January 31 as the head coach of the national, Olympic, and U23 teams. "During the past five years in Vietnam, I have no regrets because I have lived and worked hard with the support of my dedicated assistants," Park said.
