The two leading enterprises in the industry, Petrolimex and PV Oil, recorded that the value of their inventories at the end of the first quarter was nearly double the beginning of the year. Petrol price has been adjusted up five consecutive times to reach VND31,250 per litre, a rise of 31.3 per cent compared to the beginning of the year. Over the years, more than 200 volunteers have been lending a helping hand to people in difficult circumstances and those with disabilities. The project currently has 18 classes held both online and in-person in Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng, and several provinces in mountainous areas. Tailoring to the needs of the students, Phúc Xá Class is for those from domestic violence families, Phúc Tuệ is for children with autism or development delay, while Bright Future is for those with visual impairment, among many other special classes. Now, the company is negotiating with customers and is expected to increase lychee exports by about 30 per cent compared to last year, said Ameii Vietnam general director Ngô Thị Thu Hồng. Mekong Delta faces shortage of river sand for major construction projects

In An Giang Province, a project to construct a bypass began in January, with a total investment of over VNĐ2 trillion (US$86 million). However, only 4 per cent of the targeted progress has been reached, due to a lack of river sand. Phan Duy Lai, deputy general director of the Mỹ Thuận Project Management Board, said currently, only 5,000cu.m of river sand is transported to the construction site daily. However, 8,000-10,000cu.m of river sand is needed per day to ensure the planned progress, he said. In Vĩnh Long Province, data from the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment shows that the province is predicted to lack about 5.5 million cu.m of river sand for construction this year.
