Vietnam wins three golds at 50th International Physics Olympiad

(Photo courtesy of the Ministry of Education and Training) The gold medalists are Tran Xuan Tung, a student at Hanoi-Amsterdam High School, Nguyen Xuan Ung from University of Science’s High School for Gifted Students under Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Nguyen Khanh Linh from Thanh Hoa province's Lam Son High School. The silver medal winners are Le Viet Hoang from Bien Hoa High School for Gifted Students in Ha Nam province and Trinh Duy Hieu from Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students in the northern province of Bac Giang. Vietnam wins 3 gold medals at int’l math Olympiad
The Vietnamese team of six high school students won three gold medals, two silvers and a bronze at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Cape Town, South Africa from July 3 to 13. The news was announced on Saturday by the exam department under the Ministry of Education and Training. Three gold medalists include Tran Hong Quan from Thai Binh High School in northern Thai Binh Province, Pham Tuan Huy from the special high school math training class of the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, and Nguyen The Hoan from the special high school math training class of the Vietnam National University - Hanoi. Photo dantri.vn HÀ NỘI — Swimming and taekwondo athletes brought two gold medals each for Việt Nam on the seventh day of the 30th Southest Asian Games on Saturday in the Philippines. Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên won both the women's 400m freestyle and 100m backstroke events, defending her titles comfortably. The 23-year-old clocked 4min 13.20sec in the 400m freestyle. Gan Ching Hwee of Singapore and Natthanan Junkrajang from Thailand were second and third, respectively. In the latter race, Viên finished with a time of 1:02.97. Chloe Kennedy Anne Isleta and Jasmine Alkhaldi, both of the hosts, were the runners-up. Viên who is expected to win eight titles in this Games will take part in the 400m individual medley today. At the AGMs this year, many banks are expected to make major changes in the selection of their top personnel for the upcoming term from 2019 to 2024. Techcombank is due to submit a proposal for eight members of the banks Board of Directors (BoD) and three members of its supervisory board (SB) for the 2019-24 period.
