U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday instructed his trade officials to look at increasing tariffs to 25% from 10% on US$200 billion in Chinese imports into the United States. Trump, who has accused China and others of exploiting the United States in global trade, has demanded that Beijing make a host of concessions to avoid the new duties, which could be imposed in the weeks after a comment period closes on Sept. … [Read more...] about China stands its ground after Trump amps up tariff threats

The Institute of Geophysics has forecast that this year Vietnam will be impacted by around 45 geomagnetic storms, with the intensity up to the highest level (G5). The Institute’s Dr. Ha Duyen Chau says that geomagnetic storms on March 7 to 9 were not very strong and they did not make impact on the earth. However, the earth is under threat by many geomagnetic storms which will occur this year. In previous years, the number of geomagnetic storms was around 17-20 a year, but this year it may reach 40 to 45, with the maxima intensity, up to 700nT, Dr. Chau warns. Dr. Chau says that geomagnetic storms of 200nT upwards will harm human’s health. There are magnetism cells in bone, heart, and brain; so people who are affected with cardiovascular, nervous and bone diseases are very sensitive to geomagnetic storms. In industry, geomagnetic storms can affect the operation of transformer stations. In 2001, magnetism of up to over 10 Amps was measured at many transformer stations in … [Read more...] about Vietnam may be affected by many geomagnetic storms
With a nearly 13-inch screen, the iPad Pro has enough space for two apps to be used simultaneously. Source: Apple Apple’s iPad Pro is the Mercedes-Benz G550 of tablets. The G550 is Mercedes’ uber-SÜV, one of the most sure-footed four-wheel-drive cars sold today. It has fully lockable front, center, and rear differentials for maximum traction over most any surface. If I were driving across, say, Chad, it is the vehicle I would want to be in. I like cars, and I admire the G550. I can appreciate the engineering that went into making a car so capable. I also live in suburban New Jersey, and therefore have absolutely no need for a G550, even if I had the money to buy one. Apple’s iPad Pro ($799-$1,079) is the best large-screen tablet with an attachable keyboard and optional stylus you can possibly buy today. If you’re in the market for a nearly 13-inch touchscreen, I truly, non-sarcastically think you will find the iPad Pro perfect for your … [Read more...] about Apple’s iPad Pro is the Mercedes-Benz G550 of tablets.
