First FinTech Lab in Vietnam underway
VIISA and the Vietnam Fintech Club announced the first FinTech Lab in Vietnam at its opening event in Hanoi on January 24. Three startups in the first batch of FinTech Lab (Photo: VIISA) The event was attended by representatives from the State Bank of Vietnam, the Vietnam Banking Association, NGOs, funds, and investors such as Dragon Capital and BIDV. Over the formative years of these strategic partnerships, the Vietnam Fintech Club and VIISA have gained experience and traction in their strategy to include open innovation in partnerships with startups. Sunwell Solutions, with eight years experience in providing human resources solutions, aims to increase opportunities for outstanding Vietnamese engineers working at Japanese firms and develop relations between Japanese employers and Vietnamese employees. Masan takes full ownership of tungsten processing facility Masan Resources Corporation (UPCoM: MSR), one of the world’s largest integrated industrial tungsten mineral and chemical producers, announced that Nui Phao Mining Company Ltd. (NPMC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has acquired H.C.Starck GmBH’s (HCS) 49 per cent stake in Nui Phao-H.C.Starck Tungsten Chemicals Manufacturing LLC (NHTCM) for the total cash consideration of $29.1 million, and now owns 100 per cent of this company. NHTCM, previously a joint venture between NPMC and HCS, was established in 2013 and is a leading producer and global supplier of tungsten chemicals (ammonium paratungstate [APT], blue tungsten oxide [BTO], and yellow tungsten oxide [YTO]).
