Bringing HIV/AIDS education to high school youth
PANO - Dance4Life Vietnam, a new HIV/AIDS youth awareness program, will be launched in Hanoi on October 29. The project aims to create more awareness for HIV/AIDS prevention as well as more understanding for those people living with HIV/AIDS and the discrimination they face. Vietnam will be the second country in Asia to join Dance4Life after Indonesia. As part of the Dance4Life Schools Project, Dance4Life Vietnam will organize 5 workshops for 500 high school students. During these workshops, HIV/AIDS information will be combined with music, dance and real life stories. High-school boys collect 6,000 articles of clothing for flood-stricken people
Although floods have passed in Van Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa (Quang Binh), local people have recently received more than 6,000 articles of clothing and dozens of towels, mosquito nets, school bags, sandals. However, it is surprising to know that those commodities were collected by two students of Bo Trach High School No3. “Cu Son”, “Cu Viet” are what people in Thanh Khe village and around Thanh Khe market (Thanh Trach, Bo Trach) call them as very intimate names. “I am talented” – meaningful playground for high school students
PANO - The first program of the "I am talented" competition, a new interesting playground for high school students, launched by the British Council in Vietnam, VTV6 and VietBa Media, will be broadcast on VTV Channel 6 on Sundays from April 29th at 10am. The 45-minute competition aims to help nationwide students approach comprehensive education methods. Students, with communication skills in English and abilities to perform arts and sports, can join the program. Participants can also demonstrate their talents of singing, dancing, drawing, playing instruments and sports, which will be assessed by the program's jury, including Miss Ngo Phuong Lan, reporter Dang Diem Quynh and Loz Whitaker, an English teacher at the British Council.
