The import turnover is estimated at over 26 billion USD. Therefore, the export surplus of these products in January-July was 6.3 billion USD, up nearly two times over the same period last year. The United States continued to be the largest importer of Vietnamese agro-forestry-fishery products for the seven-month period, accounting for 26.8 percent to reach almost 8.7 billion USD. China came second with a total export value of over 5.7 billion USD, accounting for 17.8 percent of the market share. Q1 trade of agro-forestry-fisheries products exceeds 20 billion USD

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The import-export revenue of agro-forestry-fisheries products in the first quarter of this year was estimated at 20.63 billion USD, down 11.2% year on year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). Of the total, export value reached about 11.19 billion USD, down 14.4%. Imports were 9.44 billion USD, a fall of 7.2% year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of 1.76 billion USD, a drop of 39.6% year on year. An upturn was recorded in the revenue of agricultural products (3.8%), and livestock (46.5%), while a downturn was seen in the export of forestry products (28.3%), and fisheries products (29.0%). In the opening two months of 2023, the agro-forestry-fishery sector posted a year-on-year decline of 16.8 percent. Vietnam posts 3.32% GDP growth in Q1

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s gross domestic product ( GDP ) has grown about 3.32% year on year in the first quarter of 2023, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO). The expansion is only higher than the 3.21% recorded in Q1 of 2020 during the 2011 - 2023 period, the GSO told a press conference on March 29. In particular, the agro-forestry-fishery sector expanded 2.52% and contributed 8.85% to the GDP growth. Meanwhile, industry and construction contracted 0.4%, leading to a 4.76% decline in the growth, and the service sector increased 6.79% to contribute to 95.91% of the overall expansion. Vietnam posts 3.32 percent GDP growth in Q1, lowest level in 13 years
Vietnam has reported an on-year gross domestic product (GDP) growth of about 3.32 percent in the first quarter of this year, the growth nears the 13-year lowest level, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO). Around 60,000 firms close in first quarter
Roughly 60,000 Vietnamese enterprises closed their doors in the first three months of this year, representing an on-year increase of 17.4 percent. The figure was nearly double that of the 2018-2022 period. According to the General Statistics Office, between January and March, the total number of newly-established enterprises and those resuming their operations reached 57,000, down 5.4 percent on-year. In the first quarter, up to 25,400 businesses in the service sector were set up, up 1.5 percent on-year. Meanwhile, most other sectors saw a fall in the number of newly-opened enterprises. For instance, in the agro-forestry-fisheries sector, only 330 new companies were established, down 36.4 percent on-year. A survey on businesses in the processing and manufacturing sector showed that 44.1 percent of them believed that their business activities would be better in the second quarter this year.
