Illustrative image (Source: GettyImages) Hanoi (VNA) - Jeju Air Co. , the biggest low-cost carrier of the Republic of Korea , said on February 6 that it will resume many routes to Vietnam in April after three years of suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The carrier plans to restore services on the routes from Incheon to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on April 20, Yonhap news agency said, citing the company's statement. Jeju Air operated eight routes to five Vietnamese cities – Da Nang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc -- at the end of 2019. Most of the routes were suspended in early 2020, when the pandemic hit the airline industry. In June last year, the company resumed the routes from Incheon to Da Nang and Nha Trang, and the Busan-Da Nang route. The vaccine was approved for circulation on July 8, 2022 and put into use under supervision at pig farms. AVAC Vietnam also cooperated with the CP Livestock Joint Stock Company (CP Vietnam) to organise the pilot injection of 600,544 pigs at 545 farms, and took 5,958 samples for testing. The results showed that 93.34% of the samples met the technical requirements. The investment from VinaCapital Ventures is part of Koina’s seed fundraising round. Koina, established in 2021, aims to build a large and efficient agricultural ecosystem in Vietnam by connecting farmers with financial organisations, suppliers, and retailers. Deputy governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Dao Minh Tu has said that bad debts are climbing for both credit organisations and the wider economy. "It is an ongoing challenge to manage bad debts and banking activities will be seriously affected over the next few years," said Tu. He said that the woes would be revealed more clearly as the ratio of on-balance-sheet bad debt continues to grow due to inflation and interest rate rises. At the end of 2022, bad debts were classified based on the groups of borrowers and economic issues like recovery and inflation curbing. Can Van Luc, a member of the National Monetary and Financial Policy Advisory Council, said that on-balance-sheet bad debt could reach 2.3-2.5 per cent and gross bad debt could hit 6 per cent in 2023, rising into 2024.
