Furthermore, the excess generation of wind and solar power, coupled with the country's continued reliance on imported electricity, were also key points of discussion. EVN, through its subsidiary, the Northern Electricity Corporation, recently inked an agreement with Guangxi Power Grid Company from China. This pact allows EVN to procure electricity from the Chinese company until July. The collaboration entails the sale of electricity via a 110kV transmission line. Men Sam An lauded contributions of the Bank for Investment and Development of Cambodia (BIDC) and other subsidiaries of BIDV to Cambodia’s socio-economic development over the past 14 years, helping promote investment, trade and tourism activities in the country, as well as the bilateral trade ties. She suggested BIDV and BIDC maintain their locomotive role among Vietnamese enterprises operating in Cambodia, as well as their role as a bridge for economic, investment and trade cooperation between the two countries. Since 2009, BIDV has opened its subsidiaries in the neighboring country in the fields of finance, banking, insurance and stock market, according to its General Director Le Ngoc Lam. Under the resolution, which won the approval of 462 out of 464 participating legislators, the NA also let Cuong to stop serving as a NA deputy of the southern province of Dong Nai for its 15th tenure. The Party Central Committee on May 15 agreed to let Cuong cease holding the position of member of the 13th Party Central Committee. Gov’t finalizes 2% VAT cut plan for goods and services
With the VAT cut to 8% in the second half of this year, the government estimates a revenue loss of VND24 trillion (US$1 billion). The Government has finalized the plan to reduce the VAT on certain goods by 2%, except for those in the telecommunications, real estate, securities, insurance, and banking sectors.
