Central Vietnam city to build 80-km coastal road
The construction of the road, which would connect Ke Ga and Mui Ne resort town, was announced on Monday. The road would begin at Bac Binh District and end at Ham Thuan Nam District. The coastline of Phan Thiet of Binh Thuan Province is currently segmented by estuaries, neighborhoods and tourism projects. The future coastal road would see more roads and bridges built for connectivity as well. Binh Thuan authorities would not approve for new construction projects on the coast in Phan Thiet to keep its beaches more accessible to locals and tourists. Two hotels in Nha Trang fined for fake grading
Two hotels in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam were fined VND10 million (US$424) each for improperly upgrading their hotel star ratings to promote their services on online travel websites and social media, local authorities said on Monday. The two hotels are Areca on Phuong Cau Street in Van Thanh Ward and B&N on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street in Loc Tho Ward. Areca declared itself as a four-star hotel and B&N stated the same on its Facebook page. Both also listed themselves as four-star hotels on travel and accommodation booking platform Booking.com. However, the result of an inspection by the Khanh Hoa Department of Information and Communications showed that Areca has not yet been recognized by any state agency and B&N was rated only three-star by authorities. Though China added Vietnam to its list of approved countries for group tours on March 15, flights carrying groups of Chinese tourists to Khanh Hoa Province in the south-central region will not resume until March 26, according to Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company. Accordingly, low-cost air carrier Vietjet Air will run about 34 round-trip flights between China and Khanh Hoa from March 26 to March 31. While China Southern Airlines has plans to reopen an air route connecting China with Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa on March 26 with one daily flight, the frequency will float between 25 and 30 daily international flights from mid-April 2023 onward. Responding to VTC News, a representative of the country's national airline, Vietnam Airlines, said that it has prepared resources to welcome visitors from China.
