Vietnam National University moved to Hanoi’s outskirt

The Vietnam National University's Hoa Lac campus is ready with all facilities and equipment for educational and research activities. The Vietnam National University (VNU)’s headquarter has been relocated to its newly built campus in Hoa Lac on Hanoi's outskirt this week. The campus is expected to be the most modern and advanced university town in Southeast Asia. Planned to cover about 1,113.7 hectares, the campus includes the Polytechnic School, a research center, and offices of the management board. Built with a total investment of VND22 trillion (nearly US$950 million), the college town consisting of nine member universities, eight institutes, 13 research centers, and four specialized high schools will provide training for more than 41,000 students. SEA Games 31: Vietnam hope to rule finswimming events

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s finswiming pioneers are aiming to claim 6-8 out of the 13 gold medals on offer at the ongoing 31st Southeast Asia Games ( SEA Games 31 ). When the sport was introduced at the 2003 SEA Games, Vietnam as the host swept 13 out of the 16 golds at stake, while in Laos 2009 and Indonesia 2011 took four and six golds, respectively. Besides Thailand and the Philippines, Indonesia is growing stronger in the sport with many talented athletes, whose stats are on par with Vietnam’s top finswimmers in some categories. SEA Games 31: Vietnam exceeds gold medal target in taekwondo

SEA Games 31: Vietnam’s cyclists secure gold, silver in road competitions

The men’s and women’s road cycling races attracted the participation of 43 athletes from eight countries, namely Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. Twenty-one cyclists took part in the men’s event with a distance of 44km. The gold medal went to Quang Van Cuong of Vietnam, the silver to Sirironnachai Sarawut of Thailand, and the bronze to Yeo Boon Kiak of Singapore. The women’s event saw the competition on a 29.6km distance by 19 cyclists from seven countries, excluding Cambodia. SEA Games 31: Host Vietnam pocket new gold medals in individual blitz chess

Minh topped the event by surpassing another veteran Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem after two intense matches. This is Minh's first gold medal since he started the chess career. As a result, Liem secured the silver medal; and the bronze medals went to Tin Jingyao of Singapore and Megaranto Susanto of Indonesia. CPTPP helps leverage Vietnam-Australia investment cooperation

(Photo: VNA) Vietnam and Australia are both members of at least three free trade agreements, namely ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA), CPTPP and the Regional Economic Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). According to data of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, last year, two-way trade between Vietnam and Australia hit US$12.4 billion for the first time, up more than 49 percent compared with that of 2020. The value of shipments to Australia reached more than US$4.45 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23 percent. Vietnam spent nearly US$8 billion in importing goods from Australia, up nearly 70 percent against 2020’s figure. Vietnam's exports to Australia are growing strongly, reaching US$1.38 billion in the first quarter of 2022, a surge of 32.36 percent against the same period last year.
