An additional 1,587 new Covid-19 infections were confirmed on Friday, raising the national tally to over 10.70 million, according to the Ministry of Health. According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 48 out of 63 localities in the country with some localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (373), Phu Tho (102), Vinh Phuc (92), Nghe An (66), and Yen Bai (65). As of Friday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to over 10.70 million. The country now stands 12th among 227 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections. On May 20, an additional 7,151 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.39 million. Dragon fruit is one of Vietnam's key export products to the two high-end markets. According to Nguyen Thi Thu Huong from the Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia,  Vietnam has exported fresh dragon fruits to Australia since 2017 with the export value growing every year. Vietnam's dragon fruit export turnover to Australia surged by 36 percent in 2020 and 14 percent in 2021. Besides Overseas Vietnamese’s distribution systems, the fruit has been sold at major retail supermarkets in Australia, Huong added. Dragon fruit is one of three types of fruit licensed to be imported into New Zealand. Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Nguyen Van Trung said dragon fruit is Vietnam's most successful export fruit to New Zealand with consecutive growths from 2014 to now.
