The United Nations on May 26 awarded its medal to three officers of the Vietnam People’s Army who are working at this organization’s headquarters in New York, USA, on Peacekeeper’s Day (May 29). Three Vietnamese military officers receive UNHQ medal The three Vietnamese personnel - Lieutenant Colonel Luong Truong Vinh, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duc Huong and Major Nguyen Phuc Dong - were honored for their efforts and special achievements during their mission at the UN headquarters. Japanese conductor considered for being awarded Friendship Order
Accordingly, Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji was proposed to receive the Friendship Order. The list consists of three collectives and ten individuals. Conductor Honna Tetsuji was born in 1957 in Japan. He came to Vietnam in 2000, when he was performing on the Toyota Classic concert tour. After that, he became a music consultant and conductor of the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra. Currently, he is the main conductor of the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra. Conductor Honna has also made a lot of technical and aesthetic contribution to the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra, directly bringing many training projects with international artists to Vietnam.
