Japan's government warned Monday of a power crunch as extreme heat hits the country, with temperature records toppling and Tokyo's rainy season declared over at the earliest date on record. The Tokyo area is facing power crunch warnings amid unseasonably high temperatures. Temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) were forecast in Tokyo throughout Monday, and the mercury is not expected to drop below 34 until Sunday, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). The power warning was initially issued for late Monday afternoon, and was subsequently extended to cover the same time on Tuesday, because solar generation dips as the sun sets. Ben Tre sets world record for biggest number of 222 dishes made of coconut
The World Records Union (WorldKings) and the Vietnam Record Association (VietKings) have awarded Vietnam’s and world's records to the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre for a cooking performance of 222 dishes made of coconut. 55 cooks divided into 11 groups took responsibilities for choosing materials, processing, food arranging, carving, and garnishing to create dishes with Ben Tre coconut flavor, said Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Thi Be Muoi. The diverse mix of coconut and different materials along with the creativity in processing and cooking created unique, delicious, and healthy dishes. Guinness World Records on Tuesday awarded certificates for his works, 'Phu Quy Man Duong' and 'Thiem Thu Thien Phong An.’ Weighing 400kg and measuring 137cm across, 'Phu Quy Man Duong,' the world’s largest carved ceramic plate, has carved images of cedar trees, peacocks, mountains, and the sun. Vietnam has greatly improved its living standards as it jumped 39 places to become the 62nd-best country worldwide for quality of life in 2021, according to a report by CEOWORLD . The Southeast Asian nation earned 78.49 points, ranking 62nd out of 165 countries and territories, registering a sharp improvement from its 101st position among 171 countries in 2020. It ranked seventh in the region, while Singapore took the lead with 87.64 points, followed by Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Singapore also held the 19th position in the global rankings. Vietnam has made great strides in improving its living standard as it jumped 39 notches in the global quality of life index rankings in 2021, revealed CEOWORLD, the world’s leading business and trade magazine.
