A delegation from the Hanoi city Young Pioneers’ Association and Hanoi city Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union led by Mr Nguyen Van Thang visited and presented gifts to teenagers in Dien Bien province from September 23rd-26th. This was a practical activity of the capital youth to mark the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Federation (October 15th) and promote solidarity between teenagers in the capital and those in mountainous areas in general, and in Dien Bien in particular. The delegation presented two sets of drums, 2,000 books, study aids, cakes and candies worth of VND40 million to Yen Can primary school in Sam Mun commune, Dien Bien district, and Thanh Minh commune secondary school in Dien Bien Phu city. Activities to mark Dien Bien Phu victory
(VOVworld) - Many activities for the Dien Bien Cultural and Tourism Week are underway to mark the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory. The program includes tourism guide contests of 8 Northwestern provinces, traditional sports, cuisine contests and fashion shows by the ethnic minority groups in Dien Bien. The event attracted the participation of both domestic and international visitors. Giang A Thang, head of Hrom village, Na Tau commune in Dien Bien district won a prize in a sports contest: "Our team has 4 people: 2 men and 2 women. We have participated in such events many times. We are so happy to win the prize today". Objects telling resounding Dien Bien Phu Campaign
PANO - In the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, there were many simple things that partly contributed to the resounding victory. Some of those, such as bikes, bamboo baskets, rubber sandals made from downed enemy aircraft tyres, axes, mandrel, used by Vietnamese troops and people are being on display at the Vietnam Military History Museum. The museum is also showcasing the strength of French colonists' war machines on the Dien Bien battlefield 60 years ago, including a bulletproof vest, flame-projectors and tanks. With high determination to fight and to win and the aspiration for "nothing is more precious than freedom and independence", Vietnamese troops and people destroyed the Dien Bien Phu group of fortresses, which was proudly called an inviolable fortress by French colonists, making the resounding Dien Bien Phu Victory that shook the globe.
