Hanoi reopens indoor dining with Covid-19 restrictions

Municipal Vice Chairman Chu Xuan Dung said Monday that restaurants and coffee shops must have dividers between seats or ensure that customers are one meter apart from each other. He also urged these establishments to encourage takeaways. Non-essential services like discotheques, bars, clubs, karaoke parlors, and outdoor coffee or tea stalls will remain closed until further notice, he said. Hanoi had banned the operation of restaurants, street tea stalls and cafes on Feb. 16. Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), said that people coming to or returning from Hai Duong on and after March 3, the day the northern province completes its lockdown, must continue to submit health declarations. People returning to Hanoi from Covid-19 hotspots Cam Giang, Kinh Mon and Kim Thanh districts and Hai Duong Town in Hai Duong Province must also quarantine themselves at home for 14 days. A person return from Hai Duong can study and work normally if she/he tests negative for the coronavirus in the latest three days. The capital has not recorded any new community transmission since Feb. 16. But Hoang Duc Hanh, deputy director of the Hanoi Department of Health, said the possibility of new infections remains when colleges and universities reopen and the capital starts receiving foreign experts from overseas and people from local Covid-19 hotspots. Hanoi has recorded 36 local transmissions in the country's third Covid-19 outbreak that began on January 28. The nation’s Covid-19 total stands at 2,461 with 1,892 recoveries and 35 deaths. …

145 hotels across Vietnam register to become quarantine places

The Hanoitimes - 145 hotels in Vietnam signed up as isolation centers for the coronavirus-infected people. According to the General Department of Tourism, as of March 22, up to 145 hotels across the country have volunteered to host quarantined people. A receptionist is guiding the guests to fill out the medical declaration form. Hotels mobilized to serve as mass quarantine facilities are two- to five-star ones in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Danang, Quang Ninh and Dong Nai. These accommodation facilities pledged to quote prices of their services. This list of the paid quarantine centers will be reported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to select and turn them into isolation facilities. On March 20, the Ministry of Health issued instructions under which if a person wishes undergo the mandatory quarantine at a hotel, he/she needs pay room charges and other services. The quarantine period is 14 days from entry or final contact with people suspected of contracting the coronavirus. Hotels used for isolation will not serve other purposes and ensure essential living conditions such as electricity, water, sanitation, bathroom, ventilation, as well as being safe and convenient for accessing. They are required to set up checkpoints, security teams and hang the warning sign “Authorized personnel only”. Unauthorized people are prohibited from entering the hotel. The hotels have to establish disinfection point for means of transport at the hotel entrance. All vehicles entering and leaving the hotel should be disinfected. The area for isolated people needs to be separated from other functional areas such as reception, living, kitchen, dining room and bars entrance of unauthorized people. Hanoi closes all internet and video game stores to curb coronavirus spreading

The Hanoitimes - Hanoi residents have to limit gathering in crowds when it is not necessary. Hanoi has shut down all internet and online game stores since February 2 as part of measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. Photo: Kinhtedothi.vn “All non-essential services including internet and online game centers must be temporarily closed,” Mr. Dung said, adding that all eateries are required to disinfect their space regularly, arrange seats to ensure social distancing and ask all staff to wear masks. Hanoi has also called on places of worship not to organize events involving large numbers of people, and ordered a limit on public gatherings, the vice chairman stressed. Besides, the city leader also asked relevant units to continue strictly isolating Covid-19 cases, focusing on tracing to F3. They should be proactive in all situations, enhancing Covid-19 testing capacity and early confirming F1 cases who are tested negative with coronavirus so as to avoid confusion among the people. Previously, bars, karaoke parlors, and discotheques in Hanoi must close from February 1 to contain the spreading of the novel coronavirus. The latest Covid-19 wave with 20 community transmissions in capital city and 238 across the country in the last four days has come right before the Lunar New Year ( Tet ), Vietnam's biggest holiday.
