Apple is in talks to make Apple Watches and MacBooks in Viet Nam. — Illustration Photo Apple is in talks to make Apple Watches and MacBooks in Viet Nam for the first time as the US tech giant looks to diversify production away from China, Nikkei Asia reported. According to the newspaper, Apple suppliers Luxshare Precision Industry and Foxconn have started test production of the Apple Watch in northern Viet Nam with the aim of producing the device outside of China. August 19, 2022 by e.vnexpress.net

Twitter has sued the Tesla chief executive, who has accused Twitter of hiding information about how it calculates the percentage of bots on the service, for attempting to walk away from the $44 billion agreement. A trial is scheduled for Oct. 17. IAS and DoubleVerify, which are both based in New York, use technology to independently verify that digital ads are viewed by real people. Advertisers use the services to ensure the ads they pay for are seen by potential customers and not automated bots. Twitter, IAS and DoubleVerify did not immediately respond to requests for comment. In response to a tweet by a user who questioned how Twitter audits its service and also linked to a Reuters story on Musk targeting the ad firms, Musk tweeted: "Those are the questions that … [Read more...] about Musk targets ad tech firms in Twitter suit over takeover deal

Luxury sneakers may be a step too far for cash-strapped Gen Z

August 18, 2022 by tuoitrenews.vn

SHANGHAI/PARIS -- From $300 bucket hats to $900 sneakers and $700 t-shirts, the high-flying luxury sector is fretting over the appetite among financially stretched Gen Z consumers for such "aspirational" purchases. Executives are troubled in particular by a hit to young Chinese shoppers, not only because mainland China has been a major driver of the industry's growth in recent years, but also because high end consumers in the world's second-largest economy are a decade younger than the global average of 38. Data this week showed China's economy slowed unexpectedly, prompting a central bank rate cut, while macroeconomic trends are disproportionately impacting the extra funds that those born between 1996 and 2012 might use to enter the world of luxury. Whereas in North America and Europe, inflation and … [Read more...] about Luxury sneakers may be a step too far for cash-strapped Gen Z
