January 29, 2023 by en.vietnamplus.vn

Vietnam remains an attractive destination for foreign investors (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - According to the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Vietnam is likely to attract 36-38 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2023. The figure was nearly 22.4 billion USD in 2022. Deputy Director of the FIA Do Van Su said disbursement of foreign investment this year is expected to hit 22-23 billion USD,. Su acknowledged that the opening of China’s economy might affect Vietnam's foreign investment attraction, adding that China remained the leading investment destination in the region, so when they opened up, capital will flow into this market while that to Vietnam and other economies in the region will be limited. On the contrary, the investment capital movement of the Republic of Korea (RoK) , Japan, and Taiwan (China) will be accelerated. This shift will be accelerated until 2025, and Vietnam will be a preferred investment … [Read more...] about Vietnam’s FDI projected to reap up to 38 bln USD in 2023

January 30, 2023 by tuoitrenews.vn

Flood-ravaged Auckland is forecast to receive further heavy rain in the coming days, authorities in New Zealand's largest city said on Monday, as insurers counted the costs of what looks likely to be the country's most expensive weather event ever. Four people lost their lives in flash floods and landslides that hit Auckland over the last three days amid record downpours. A state of emergency remains in place in Auckland and further south in regional Waitomo. Flights in and out of Auckland Airport are still experiencing delays and cancellations, while beaches around the city of 1.6 million are closed. "There has been very significant damage across Auckland," New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins told state-owned television station TVNZ on Monday. "Obviously there were a number of homes damaged by flooding but also extensive earth movements." Currently, around 350 people were in need of emergency accommodation, he added. Looming clouds Metservice is forecasting further … [Read more...] about New Zealand counts cost of Auckland floods, more rain forecast

January 30, 2023 by bizhub.vn

Foreign capital is expected to continue to flow into the stock market as foreign investors' confidence remains strongly. — VNA/VNS Photo From being net sellers in the first nine months of 2022, foreign investors have become the driving force supporting the Vietnamese stock market in the last few months, and the inflows are expected to continue this year. In 2022, this group net disbursed more than VND29.2 trillion (US$1.2 billion) to the market, while it has net sold nearly VND18.8 trillion and set a record net selling value of over VND62.2 trillion in 2021. In November alone, more than VN16 trillion in net disbursed cash flow from foreign investors was significantly supported by exchange-traded fund (ETF) capital inflows into the market, primarily from the Fubon ETF and the VNDiamond Index-based ETF. A study by BIDV Securities Company (BSC) analysing over $50 billion owned by foreign investors on the Vietnamese stock market showed that more than half of foreign ownership is … [Read more...] about Foreign investors remain optimistic about VN stock market

Vietnam’s tourism in 2022: measures for recovery, acceleration

January 5, 2022 by en.vietnamplus.vn

Dawn breaks over Da River lake.(Photo: VietnamPlus) Hanoi (VNA) - As vaccination coverage is expanding, the severity of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is showing signs of dying out. As a result, Vietnam’s tourism needs to quickly work out harmonious measures for the coming period of recovery. A sad economic year for the tourism sector has come to an end after many tremors caused by successive outbreaks of COVID-19 . Vietnam’s green economy in 2021 failed to recover as seen through the statistics of the yearly review, yet many experts still believe that in 2022, accelerations will be created with attention and assistance from the government. Although the pandemic is still spreading with new variants, there are grounds for us to hope the constantly expanding vaccination coverage has helped weaken the severity of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The clock is ticking towards the day when the world can contain and roll back the pandemic, opening up chances for socio-economic recovery. That is … [Read more...] about Vietnam’s tourism in 2022: measures for recovery, acceleration
