Vietnam to boost technology transfer from universities

(Photo: SGGP) Director of SIHUB Huynh Kim Tuoc stated in the conference that Vietnam is now lacking a professional board to evaluate research results, be it for small-scaled businesses or large-scaled manufacturing. Therefore, he suggested that university should form a unit specially for research activities and research result commercialization to more easily approach needy people in the market. Other participants in the conference agreed that cooperation and technology transfer among universities are limited and encountering difficulties. Adding to that is the trouble in registering for the protection of intellectual property, transferring technology and commercializing research results in a methodical and professional manner in order to maximize the effectiveness of products created from research activities. Vietnam Conference on Earth and Environmental Sciences held in Binh Dinh

The Ministry of Science and Technology, ‘Rencontres du Vietnam’ Scientific Association, Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VinIF) and Hanoi University of Science & Technology have supported the organization of the four-day event. This year’s conference sees the participation of 20 delegates from foreign countries such as France, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. The participating scientists and students will look into nearly 100 reports on environment pollution, water treatment, hydro-meteorology and oceanography, aquatic science, remote sensing, plastic pollution, waste management, applied environment, along with regional climate modelling and CORDEX-SEA related studies. Vietnam Green Building Week 2022 slated for October

The second Vietnam Conference on Earth and Environmental Sciences (VCEES-2022) has created a multidisciplinary scientific forum where scientists can look into the latest trends and progress in earth and environmental sciences. Research program on sustainable development in southwest region

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh has allowed the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and the Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City to implement a research program on scientific and technology tasks necessary for sustainable development in the southwest region between 2015 and 2019. The Mekong Delta has yet to develop sustainably due to slow economic re-structuring and limited cooperative ties between the region and other provinces across the country, necessitating the plan, said Deputy PM Ninh, who is also Head of the Steering Committee for the southwest region, while chairing a workshop in Kien Giang province on March 27 th . He pointed out that the rate of impoverished households in the region remains high, especially in remote and ethnic minority inhabited areas.
