Dollar reaches another peak this year

September 18, 2023 by e.vnexpress.net

Vietcombank sold the dollar at VND24,500, up 0.31% from Sunday.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) raised its rate by 0.04% to VND24,046.

Unofficial exchange points sold the greenback at VND24,280, up 0.08%.

The dollar has gained over the dong by 3.24% since the beginning of the year.

Most Asian currencies fell on Monday, while the dollar steadied near six-month highs as markets hunkered down before several key central bank rate decisions this week, most notably the Federal Reserve, according to financial news outlet Investing .

The dollar retained most of its recent strength, staying within sight of a six-month peak hit last week as investors positioned for more signals from the Fed, it said, adding that the dollar index and dollar index futures fell less than 0.1% each in Asian trade.
