At the meeting, Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh presented gifts of the Ministry of National Defense to the national contributors.
Gen. Minh also underlined that over the past year, the whole military has effectively implemented the gratitude movements, calling for more resources to take care of national contributors.
During the past ten years, the whole military has mobilized troops and others to contribute nearly VND 550 billion to the gratitude fund, built more than 7,000 gratitude houses, taken care of 2,879 heroic Vietnamese mothers; offered jobs to more than 420 children of severely-wounded soldiers at convalescent centers as well as wives and children of martyrs who laid down their lives while performing military-defense missions. It also presented nearly 6,000 savings books to policy beneficiaries, to name but a few.
In 2022, the Ministry of National Defense decided to give financial support to build 95 houses, worth more than VND 6.6 billion, for policy beneficiaries and poor families in Kon Tum. Currently, the Department of Policy under the General Department of Political Affairs, together with Military Region 5, is supervising the construction of these houses.
