A parked petrol tank truck suddenly caught fire before the blaze spread to several nearby houses in Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City on Friday.
The fire broke out and engulfed the tank truck that was parked on Nguyen Huu Tho Street in the district at around 1:00 pm.

The truck driver and local people quickly tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher, but to no avail.

The fire then flared up, with a sound of an explosion, before fanning out over many houses along Nguyen Huu Tho Street, destroying a large number of properties.

Firefighters and fire trucks arrived at the site shortly after a report on the incident and managed to extinguish the fire around one hour later.
No casualties were reported.
