The district has advantages in terms of road and waterway transport, with over 654km of roads covered with concrete, especially with 11km of National Highway 39A connecting with National Highway 5 in Pho Noi (20km from the district), 6.5km of roads connecting Cau Gie-Ninh Binh and Hanoi-Hai Phong highways and Provincial Road 378 running along the dyke, as well as with about 11km of waterways connecting with Hanoi and Hung Yen cities. In particular, a new national highway running through the district will help Kim Dong connect with Thai Binh and Hai Duong provinces and ring roads 4, 5 of Hanoi.

The district also plans to invest in a number of new roads, such as a route with the starting point at the DH60 intersection running through Chinh Nghia, Song Mai and Ngoc Thanh and connecting with the Hung Yen City and a route with the starting point at the National Highway 39A running through DDK Industrial Zone and connecting with Provincial Road 378. These routes will be convenient to promote economic links with Hanoi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and neighboring localities, creating a premise for local development of industry, trade, services and urban areas.

The district's labor force is over 68,500 people, accounting for 58 percent of total population. With a tradition of studiousness and diligence, most of the population has a high level of education and high awareness. These strengths will create a premise for the district to build a high-quality labor force, meeting recruitment needs of businesses.

The project on the northern agricultural product wholesale market in Luong Bang Town is a particularly important one, creating a driving force for socioeconomic development of Kim Dong District in particular and Hung Yen Province in general. It will also contribute to the district's economic development in the direction of trade and services, clearly changing the appearance of Kim Dong District towards civilization and modernity.
