MND reviews task performance in June

The event was attended by Director of the General Department of Political Affairs General Luong Cuong, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, among others.

Reportedly, under the leadership of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense (MND), the whole-military has maintained combat readiness, managed the sky, the sea and the land, and promptly dealt with emerging situations. The military has collaborated with the public security force, sent troops and vehicles to help flood-affected people in Northern and North Central Coast provinces.

On the other hands, the training work has been directed closely, with the focus on examining training quality of the first period, training teams participating to the International Army Games in 2022, and new recruits.

The MND has well prepared for military schools' entrance exam in 2022, directed military-defense tasks at all levels. The agency held ceremonies to honor military athletes participating to the 31st SEA Games and medical personnel of the Level-two Field Hospital Rotation 3, who successfully completed U.N. peacekeeping missions in South Sudan.

Meanwhile, the whole military has well performed political and ideological education, multiplied outstanding examples, fought against wrongful viewpoints of hostile forces, and so on.

Speaking at the event, General Phan Van Giang spoke highly of the outcomes of the whole-military in June, stressing that the Central Military Commission and the MND should continue leading military units to maintain combat readiness, forecast all situations, and promptly deal with unexpected situations, contributing to firmly protecting national sovereignty and territory as well as ensuring security and order nationwide.

He urged the affiliated units to conduct training activities as planned while organizing the competition for the commanding staff and political commissars from the provincial and municipal military commands, and the whole-military unarmed martial arts contest.

The defense minister required military units to continue implementing political and ideological education for troops, disseminating information related to military-defense tasks, multiplying outstanding examples, and conducting mass mobilization and gratitude activities on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers' Day (July 27, 1947 – 2022). In addition, he urged military units to enhancing defense external relations, accelerating international cooperation in overcoming post-war aftermaths, and taking part in the U.N. peacekeeping operations.
