The event drew the attention of former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Vo Van Thuong.
Addressing the event, Thuong hailed and congratulated the press sector in the whole military for producing high quality Party building works. He emphasized that this year's Bua Liem Vang Award – the sixth National Press Award on Party building was renovated and expanded in both scope and scale, attracting the participation of press agencies in the whole country with high quality works.
The Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat also requested authorities at all levels to not only create favorable conditions for press agencies and reporters working at localities, but also learn from lessons and good models raised by the press works. He also called on the whole country in general, and reporters in particular to continue joining the seventh Bua Liem Vang Award in the coming time.
Launched on January 13, 2021, the award received 2,081 entries, an increase of 371 works by 21.69 percent in comparison to 2020. They included 843 works for print outlets, 449 for online newspapers, 511 television programs, 221 radio programs, and 57 photo entries, which reflected a number of major events and pressing issues, such as the 13th National Party Congress, elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People's Councils, and COVID-19 response management.
One hundred and ten outstanding entries were selected for the final. As a result, the jury selected 67 best works to be awarded, including six A, 12 B and 16 C prizes alongside 30 consolation ones. Reporters of the People's Army Newspaper won three B awards.
On this occasion, the organizing panel also presented certificates of merit to three press agencies with creative Party building works and outstanding achievements in dissemination work on the award. Meanwhile, three typical characters in the works were also honored.
The organizing panel also took the occasion to launch the seventh Bua Liem Vang Award 2022.
