EastEnders residents Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner) and Martin Fowler (James Bye) have had their trials and tribulations over the years, but the former lovers remain friends for the sake of their daughter Lily Slater (Lillia Turner). However, the pair may have reached breaking point, with Stacey possibly leaving Albert Square as Martin drops a huge bombshell.

Over the last few weeks, Martin and Stacey have been going head-to-head as they found out they had accidentally applied for the same job.

As she arrived for her interview, Martin walked out of the building looking happy with himself and revealed he, too, was going for the job of the market inspector.

However, Stacey seemed to have an unfair advantage after her new wife and prison friend Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) gave her a hand with her CV.

During the interview, Stacey was left embarrassed when she was grilled about the information on her CV and realised Eve had added some embellishments to it.

Last year, Stacey returned to Albert Square after facing prison time for allegedly pushing Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) down a flight of stairs.

Stacey's mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) took her revenge on Ruby by stitching her up and implicating her in a drug ring.

Hearing the news of Stacey returning home, Martin became worried about his future when he realised Lily would have been moving back home with the Slaters.

When Stacey arrived home and met everyone at her welcome home party, Stacey told Martin she wanted to have a private word with him.

Getting his hopes up, Zack Hudson (James Farrar) encouraged his friend to tell Stacey how he regretted the way he treated her over the last few years.
