Sympathising with the loss and pain of the people of the central provinces after the recent heavy storms a and floods, PetroVietnam was one of the first companies to raise funds to aid overcoming the bad consequences. PetroVietnam and its member companies have so far donated $14.26 million to the people in the central region The seventh storm hit Vietnam on October 17 with severe consequences. To help the locals to overcome difficulties, from October 18, a campaign was launched by PetroVietnam’s general director Le Manh Hung to collect donations from the staff and workers. So far, a series of meaningful and creative activities have been deployed in response to the turmoil of Central Vietnam. All staff and workers had reserved a day’s salary to donate to the vulnerable people and support teams have been quickly dispatched to the impacted provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, and Quang Nam to deliver financial support (cash and savings books), necessities like food, drink, life jackets, flashlights, medicine, clothes, notebooks, and stationery.
