(Source: Xinhua) Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin met with visiting Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe in Kuala Lumpur on September 7, during which they discussed cooperation between the two countries. Muhyiddin congratulated China on its success in containing the COVID-19 outbreak. With the support from China, Malaysia has become one of the first countries in the world to control the outbreak, he said, expressing his hope that the two countries will continue cooperatingin the pandemic fight. Malaysia is willing to work with China to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields including defence, economy, trade, and education, among others, Muhyiddin said. For his part, Wei said the friendship between China and Malaysia has a long history, and bilateral relationship has always enjoyed healthy and stable development.
