City’s Riders Republic helps supply medicine across State The North East division of police has set up a helpline for the delivery of medicines from the city to across the State and borders. The police have teamed up with a group of riders who carry the medicines along with them and deliver them to the patients or hospitals where the rare medicines are required. The helpline was launched last week and since then the police have been receiving 15 to 20 calls, daily. Bikers team, Riders Republic Motorcycle Club have joined hands with the police and are delivering the medicines on their motorbikes. Deputy commissioner of police (North-East), Dr. Bheemashankar S Guled said that the Riders Republic, a bikers team has joined hands with them, and with their help, the police are sending the life-saving medicines to other cities and districts, across the state. Their first assignment was delivering cancer medicines worth Rs. 2.4 lakh to Kannur in Kerala and since it was difficult to arrange interstate passes, they told her that it would be delivered to the border from where she agreed to arrange further delivery.
