Rose McGowan has been told to stay off social media by critics after she walked-back her knee-jerk apology over Twitter to Iran, apologizing for the airstrike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.
Rose, 46, said she had ‘stupidly looked at Twitter’ after waking up to see the news that the Iranian general was killed by the American air strike.
‘I had a flashback to being at the United Nations cafeteria with my friend who was a lawyer there for the UN and it was the same day that Colin Powell was delivering his fake WMD testimony at the UN,’ she to Associated Press.
‘I was like you’re just going to do it, stop lying and just do it.’

The actress spoke with the Associated Press and declared that she had ‘stupidly looked at Twitter’ after seeing news that the Iranian general was killed by the American air strike, which then led to her tweets
McGowan added that while her family has always been ‘extremely political,’ she currently does not ‘believe governments.’
‘I don’t believe in Iran’s government and I do not believe in the American government,’ she continued. ‘Clinton on the eve of his impeachment launched rockets at Iraq. I mean let’s all open the same handbook, have we not been here before?’
The activist is referencing a December 17, 1998, airstrike that Bill Clinton approved of just two days before the House of Representatives approved the articles of impeachment against him.
McGowan further drags the Democratic Party in her condemnation of governments, adding that Harvey Weinstein was involved with some of the party’s largest players.

‘I don’t believe in Iran’s government and I do not believe in the American government,’ she stated. ‘Clinton on the eve of his impeachment launched rockets at Iraq. I mean let’s all open the same handbook, have we not been here before?’
‘As I said he was Hollywood’s cult leader but he was protected by the Democratic Party, for sure,’ McGowan asserted.
She then details her history being a politically active child after her family moved back to the United States from Italy.
McGowan shared that as a child, she handed out Dukakis cigarettes and anti-Iranian pamphlets
‘When I was 10, I was handing out vote Dukakis cigarettes in little cellophane bags, she said. ‘When I was 11 I was handing out anti-Iran packets, like opposing sharia law and their treatment of women and children in Iran.’
McGowan’s comments come after she and John Legend led the charge condemning the airstrike that led to the death of General Qassem Soleimani on Thursday night.
McGowan, in her apology, posted a GIF of the Iranian flag.
‘Dear #Iran, The USA has disrespected your country, your flag, your people. 52% of us humbly apologize,’ she tweeted.
‘We want peace with your nation. We are being held hostage by a terrorist regime. We do not know how to escape. Please do not kill us. #Soleimani.’
Following the tweets, McGowan’s fans and followers accused her of doing drugs and asked her to delete the tweet. The calls only convinced McGowan to continue on with her onslaught.

On Thursday, US officials confirmed that an airstrike ordered by the president had killed Soleimani.
A statement from the Defense Department said Soleimani was targeted because he ‘was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region.’
The general is also accused of approving the attacks on the American Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, earlier this week.
President of Iran Hassan Rouhani promised to ‘take revenge for this heinous crime’ and the State Department urged all US citizens to ‘depart Iraq immediately.’
Actress Rose McGowan, 46, tweeted on Friday an apology to Iran after an airstrike ordered by President Donald Trump killed the one of the Middle Eastern nation’s top generals
McGowan tweeted that even though Soleimani was ‘an evil, evil man’, it didn’t excuse the airstrike. She also revealed that she is a registered Republican, but later said she was kidding
McGowan’s first tweet garnered more than 7,400 likes and more than 1,600 retweets.
She continued with another tweet directed at Trump that read: ‘Thanks a lot, d******d.’
In yet another tweet, the 46-year-old said she recognized that Soleimani was an ‘evil, evil man,’ but that the airstrike wasn’t justified.
”Of course #Soleimani was an evil evil man who did evil evil things. But that at this moment is not the f*****g point,’ she wrote.
McGowan (left) and actor John Legend (right) each coined the president as either ‘d******d’ or the ‘lyingest liar’
Singer John Legend has blasted an airstrike ordered by President Donald Trump that killed one of Iran’s top generals
‘The United States is morally corrupt and acts illegally. It is only logical to appeal to Iran’s pride by apologizing. I’m taking one for the team. #TeamStayAlive.’
The actress then admitted she had a freak out over the idea of an impending war between the US and Iran.
‘Ok, so I freaked out because we may have any impending war. Sometimes it’s okay to freak out on those in power,’ she wrote.
‘It’s our right. That is what so many Brave soldiers have fought for. That is democracy. I do not want any more American soldiers killed. That’s it.’
McGowan also joked that she is a registered Republican but that she can’t vote for any political party in the upcoming 2020 election.
‘I’m a registered Republican in California. I loathe the Clintons. I hate Trump. I will not vote Republican, but I cannot vote Democrat,’ she tweeted.
‘I’d rather know what evil I’m getting, so I’ll go Republican. This is about WWIII, so none of that s**t matters anyway. #TeamStayAlive #RoseArmy.’
She later clarified with a tweet that read: ‘I will never vote Republican. I want the Democrats to win because we are less likely to die. I am a conscientious objector to the USA, it’s policies, lies, corruption, nationalism, racism, and deep misogyny. It is our right and duty as citizens to dissent.’

Cusack tweeted: ‘Trump in full fascist 101 mode-,steal and lie – until there’s nothing left and start a war – He’s so idiotic he doesn’t know he just attacked Iran And that’s not like anywhere else.’
Actress Alyssa Milano also appeared to criticize the president’s action, retweeting one of Trump’s tweet from 2011 criticizing then-President Barack Obama.
‘In order to get elected, @BarackObama will start a war with Iran,’ he wrote at the time.
In response, Milano wrote on Friday: ‘There’s a tweet for everything. Holy s**t.’
Debra Messing took the same approach as Milano, sharing a Trump tweet from October 2012, in which he wrote: ‘Now that Obama’s numbers are in a tailspin, watch for him to launch a strike against Libya or Iran. He is desperate.’
‘THERE IS A TWEET FOR EVERYTHING. #TrumpIsANationalSecurityThreat,’ Messing tweeted on Friday.

Legend recalled his protest against the 2003 Iraq War
Filmmaker Michael Moore also criticized the president on Twitter, posting a photo of Soleimani.
‘Hello fellow Americans. Do you know this man? Did you know he was your enemy?’ Moore tweeted.
‘What? Never heard of him? By the end of today you will be trained to hate him. You will be glad Trump had him assassinated. You will do as you are told. Get ready to send your sons &daughters off 2 war.’
Moore then mocked Trump, writing: ‘War is good. War is a necessary distraction. War is peace. Trump is our Commander! Shhhh…sleep…there was no collusion…it was a perfect call…I just shot a man on 5th Ave just because I can…I’m sorry, but due to this national emergency we’ve had to postpone the election’
Legend also shared another tweet protesting the airstrike.
In reference to his take on the Iraq War, he wrote: ‘I marched on the streets of NYC in protest. I knew Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. I knew our leaders were fishing for reasons to do something they’d already decided to do. ‘
