The event, which was jointly held by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Vietnam Grand Prix Company and Heineken Vietnam, offered spectators live performances of F1 cars on the racetrack that will become part of the official race scheduled for 2020. In particular, the audience had the chance to meet legendary F1 driver David Coulthard from the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Team who won 13 Grand Prix races. “This is the second time I have been with the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Team in Vietnam. I am especially excited that Vietnam will host the F1 Grand Prix next year. Amid the enthusiasm of the Vietnamese fans, I believe that the track in Hanoi will become one of the most attractive racetracks in the world, receiving the love of a large number of racing drivers and teams,” said David Coulthard. Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of Vingroup Le Khac Hiep said that the F1 kick-off event is the opening activity for a series of major events for the F1 Grand Prix in Hanoi in the near future. On the occasion, ticket sales for the 2020 race in Vietnam were announced with the offer of more than 5,500 tickets in addition to promotional activities. The construction of a 5.5km track in Hanoi was commenced in March 2019 and is expected to be completed in12 months. The F1 Vietnam Grand Prix is scheduled to take place in April 2020.
