The fiber plant project has total capital of more than VND500 billion and covers an area of 46,000 square meters. The facility is slated for construction in 24 months. The project is expected to be carried out in two phases, with the first phase requiring VND275 billion and turning out 3,500 tons of fiber per year. Phase one will be put into service by end-2019. Meanwhile, VND238 billion will be used for the second phase, with an output of 4,500 tons per year. Tran Quang Nghi, board chairman of Vinatex, noted that being equipped with advanced machines imported from Europe, Japan and India would ensure the plant’s fiber products meet demand at home and abroad. When in place, the Dong Nam-Bac Lieu fiber plant, the first fiber facility to be developed in the Mekong Delta region, is expected to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the locality, generating VND525 billion per year in revenue.
