He said, “I appreciate the initiative of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for organizing the annual “Power of humanity” program with a sound purpose. On this occasion, I welcome and thank important contributions of sectors, agencies, organizations, businesses, philanthropists, and people to Red Cross Society’s humanitarian activities. Thanks to the contributions, millions of disadvantaged people have overcome difficulties and humanitarian values have been spread in the community.” This year’s program has raised nearly US$2.5 million and more than 2 million gifts. The organizing board announced that Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong is now honorable President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.
