Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, made the statement at his meetings with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Tea Banh in Phnom Penh on September 21 afternoon. General Cuong was leading a high-ranking delegation of the GDP to officially visit Cambodia from September 20 to 22 at the invitation of General Neang Phat, Secretary of State at the Cambodian Defense Ministry. During the meetings, Prime Minister Hun Sen and General Tea Banh sent their deepest condolences to the Vietnamese Party and Government leaders and people over the passing of President Tran Dai Quang. They hailed the visit and highly valued the outcomes of the talks between the Vietnamese delegation and the high-ranking delegation of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces as well as the good results of the implementation of the cooperation protocol for the 2015-2019 period and the annual cooperation plan agreed by two defense ministries. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen emphasized that Cambodia always attaches importance to preserving and strengthening the traditional friendship and solidarity as well as comprehensive cooperation between the two countries for the sake of the two peoples and for peace, stability and development of each country.
