Quang Nam native crowned Miss Vietnam 2018 The Saigon Times Daily Tran Tieu Vy, a native of Quang Nam Province on the central coast, is crowned Miss Vietnam 2018 – PHOTO: COURTESY OF THE ORGANIZER HCMC – Tran Tieu Vy, an 18-year-old girl from the central coast province of Quang Nam, outperformed 42 other contestants to be crowned Miss Vietnam 2018 in the final round held in HCMC on September 16. Bui Phuong Nga from the northcentral province of Ha Tinh and Nguyen Thi Thuy An from the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Together with the crown which was made from 30 pearls and 3,260 sapphires, Vy got VND500 million in cash and gifts worth several hundreds of millions of dong. Vy, who is 1.74 meters tall, currently studies at the HCMC University of Technology and Education. She will represent Vietnam at the Miss World 2018 which is slated for early December in China. The Miss Vietnam competition has been organized biennially since 1988. After 30 years, it has become one of the most prestigious beauty pageants in the country.
