Saigontourist golf tourney raises VND600 million for poor students By Dao Loan Chairman of Saigontourist Pham Huy Binh hands a symbolic check valued at VND600 million to Tran Thanh Long, chairman of the HCMC Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients – PHOTO: BAO HOANG HCMC – The Saigontourist Holding Company raised VND600 million (US$26,000) for underprivileged students in a golf tournament which took place in HCMC today, July 29. At a ceremony, the chairman of Saigontourist, Pham Huy Binh, handed over the money to Tran Thanh Long, chairman of the HCMC Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients, to fund 500 scholarships for underprivileged and disabled students in HCMC and three Mekong Delta provinces – Tra Vinh, Long An and Ben Tre. The Saigontourist Golf Tournament 2018 was held at the Thu Duc Golf Course with 150 golfers who are diplomats, businessmen and partners of Saigontourist attending. The tournament was sponsored by the International Tourist Club, the Vietnam Golf & Country Club, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines, Vietcombank, Jetstar, BreadTalk, TBS Group, ECCO, Saigontourist’s affiliates and others. This is an annual golf event aimed to celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of Saigontourist (August 1). The Saigontourist Holding Company currently has over 100 hotels, resorts, restaurants, travel companies and entertainment parks throughout the nation.
