The statement was made by Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, while receiving Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng in the City on March 13. At the reception, Politburo member Nhan spoke of his appreciation for the Phnom Penh leaders’ initiatives for sending young authorities to Ho Chi Minh City for exchanges and learning experiences on urban management and development. He emphasised that Ho Chi Minh City is implementing cooperation activities with Phnom Penh, including the provision of scholarships to Cambodian students and building the Cho Ray-Phnom Penh Hospital. For his part, Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng recalled the steadfast support of Vietnam during the Cambodian people’s fight for national liberation. During the visit, the Cambodian delegation studied and gleaned a lot of experience on administrative reform, transport, and environment from Ho Chi Minh City, he added.
